Day‑by‑day
A high‑level overview of each day. Detailed routes are shared with riders after booking.
Into the Klein Karoo
Klein Karoo
We start in the Klein Karoo and make our way through the Anysberg Nature Reserve to the Seweweekspoort — an unforgettable opener across wide semi‑desert and through one of the Cape's most dramatic passes.
Toward the Baviaans
Klein Karoo → Baviaans
A mellow day leaving the Swartberg foothills behind, rolling east through remote back roads to the mouth of the Baviaanskloof. A supply stop en route and a farmhouse night at the edge of the wilderness.
The Baviaans traverse
Baviaanskloof
The big day. A full traverse of the Baviaanskloof — technical gorge riding, river crossings at the valley floor, and remote mountain sections. Out the far side for a farm night at the end of a long day in the saddle.
Swartberg Pass & Gamkaskloof
Swartberg · Gamkaskloof
The iconic Swartberg Pass, taken slowly with stops for views, swims and photos. Then the dramatic descent into Gamkaskloof ("Die Hel") — one of the most remote valleys in the country — for a night in an old Cape farm cottage.
The long way home
Swartberg → southern Cape
Climb back out of Gamkaskloof ("Die Hel") together, complete the northern side of the Swartberg, and weave through the southern Cape on the way home. Route choices open up for a relaxed final day.
